What Our Clients Say About Speech Therapy Essentials
FAQ
Answers to Common Questions About Our Services
What types of difficulties do you treat in children?
We work with children who have challenges making speech sounds, speaking clearly, understanding language, using words and sentences, or expressing themselves effectively.
How do I know if my child needs speech and/or language therapy?
If your child is hard to understand, struggles to follow directions, has trouble finding words, or is falling behind compared to peers, therapy may help. A pediatrician or teacher can also guide you toward an evaluation.
What happens during the first session?
The first session is an evaluation of your child’s speech and language skills using assessment tools, observation, and play. At the end, we review results with you and recommend a personalized therapy plan.
How long does therapy take?
Each child is different. Some make progress quickly, while others need ongoing support. The length of therapy depends on your child’s unique needs, goals, and progress.
What does a typical therapy session look like?
Sessions are interactive and fun, using games, books, and conversation to keep children engaged while targeting specific speech or language goals.

Helping You or Your Loved Ones Communicate With Confidence
Speech Therapy
Some children have trouble saying certain sounds, which can make their speech unclear. This can affect their confidence, friendships, and participation at school.
Therapy helps children learn how to make sounds correctly so their speech is clearer and easier to understand.
What to Expect in Therapy
- Play-based activities that keep your child motivated while working on their sounds.
Step-by-step strategies like slowing down, practicing tricky words, and using “sound reminders” to help them form sounds correctly.
Homework practice with simple games, word lists, or picture cards for carryover at home.
Parent coaching so you feel confident helping your child practice outside of sessions.
Language Therapy
Some children struggle with understanding directions, finding the right words, or putting sentences together. These challenges can make schoolwork, conversations, and social interactions harder.
Therapy builds language step by step so your child can better express themselves and understand others.
What to Expect in Therapy
Interactive activities like stories, games, and conversation practice that make learning fun.
Practical strategies such as using picture supports, asking your child to “tell it back,” or expanding short answers into full sentences.
Homework practice with easy activities like reading together, practicing new words, or using conversation starters at home.
Parent coaching to help you use everyday routines—like mealtime or playtime—as chances to build language skills.
